"I have to admit that I was skeptical at first with the Wine Enhancers. After receiving them, the Wine Team here at Merchant of Vino in Colorado put your Enhancers to the test. First, we started with a big, tannic Cab From Alexander Valley and noticed a big difference in the “control glass” vs. the enhanced glass. I need to do my own testing.
Thus, on a Friday afternoon, I line up paper cups and volunteers - the latter being an incredibly easy thing to find in a newsroom - and put the Enhancer through its paces.
In keeping with the instructions, I pour a small amount of a red wine into each of the paper cups, and then place the bottle on the Enhancer for 10 minutes. Then I pour the Enhanced wine into a second row of cups and summon the volunteers.
............there is general agreement that there is definitely a difference in the taste. I find the Enhanced wine to have less of an after-burn, if that's an acceptable oenophile term.

"I recently ran a little Wine Enhancer experiment with a well-known chef and restaurateur on the North Shore. Although we were all skeptical of the Wine Enhancer's claims, we opened a couple bottles of Cabernet, placed one on the Wine Enhancer and the other just on the table. We poured and tasted our control wine, which was full and ripe, but a big rough around the edges. After 10 minutes sitting on the Catania Wine Enhancer, the Cabernet was rounded out, the tannins were completely diminished, and the wine was vibrant and full of flavor. The un-enhanced wine was very sharp on the tongue, but the enhanced wine filled my entire mouth will a wonderful, vibrant taste. It was almost surreal, almost too good to be true. My wife and I have subsequently experimented with various wines, including bottles that have been opened for up to 2 days, and the Wine Enhancer brings out the maximum energy in every sip. My wife suffers from heartburn and headaches when she drinks red wine, and the Catania Wine Enhancer has miraculously solved this problem. My next experiment: maybe I'll try putting a McDonalds hamburgers on the Wine Enhancer and see if it turns into Filet Mignon".

"I have been using the Large Deluxe Model (older model) Catania wine enhancer for several months now trying it on a variety substances and observing the effects.
After several tests I must come to the conclusion that this thing really works!....
The enhancer is quite interesting and attractive in appearance....
I started by doing comparisons on Scotch, Irish whisky and cognac.
I used my Ridel Crystal whiskey glasses for the tests and poured about an inch of the sprit in each glass. The spirits were allowed to breath for about 30 minutes then I placed one glass on the enhancer and the other was kept far away. After 15 minutes on the enhancer I did side by side taste tests.
In each case the enhanced glass was more subtle, more subdued compared to the control. The control while still tasting damn good was by comparison to the enhanced glass more raw, primitive, unrefined. The enhanced glass invited a ramp up of the senses and produced a more intimate experience as I was encouraged to spend more time with the spirit in exploration.........

"I recently had the interesting experience of a blind wine tasting to test the effects of a device called The Catania Wine Enhancer. The bottles were decanted into two empty decanters and one half was served after enhancement and one half the way it came from the bottle. The wine selections were a variety of reds including Bordeaux, red burgundy, nebbiolo from Piemonte, and some California cabernet. We also included a young acidic German Riesling I’m not a “new agey” kind of guy so I approached the tasting with a good deal of skepticism. I was very surprised to find that there was a marked difference in all the reds that were enhanced compared to the unimproved samples. The enhanced wines were softer, less tannic, aromatically different and more approachable........ I have no idea how it works but I’m convinced that it wasn’t just the power of suggestion or the way the wines were handled other than the enhancement. I would be very interested in further testing and tasting to see how the device should be best used".
